Krizy @ Work

Creating sculptures in natural stone is an intensive and elaborate process.
Krizy starts with a rough piece of bluestone. Using a hammer, chisel and grinding wheel he then gets to work. He lets the bluestone be his guide, trying to let the sculpture speak for itself. This is how he produces the rough lines of his sculptures. Then he obtains the desired shape with the help of small grinding disks and milling cutters. Afterwards the creations are finished by polishing them smooth.
All these techniques require a lot of patience and craftsmanship. Krizy is completely self-taught and always looking for great results.

Gedicht: “De beeldhouwer”

stenensplijtend,
stofverbijtend
met een hamer in je schoot

krissekrassend,
zelfverrassend
leg je alle nerven bloot

beeldenstormend,
beeldenvormend
met je groot miskend talent

marmerslijpend,
tangenknijpend
steeds meer vuur, polyvalent
